The role of LURIS in working with third parties

For research projects and assignments where Intellectual Property (IP) other than copyright on publications play a role, advice and support from LURIS is required. LURIS is active and has know how and experience in:
   

  • Knowledge exploitation
  • Knowledge protection 
  • Public-private research collaboration

Besides this role as advisor, LURIS is also mandated by the Board of Leiden University to a certain level in negotations, agreements with third parties where IP is involved. Research development leading to new inventions must be reported to LURIS. The role of advisor that LURIS has also applies to consutlancy activities and EU research subsidies.
