In some cases the best route to market for IP coming out of the University is the creation of a new company. Every year there are several opportunities to participate in new companies based on the technology coming from Leiden University.

The company will often be the preferred vehicle to exclusive exploit the relevant IP but this must not stand in the way of ongoing research activities and core values of the University. Most companies are early stage and need more input than just capital. We welcome hands-on investors that have the resources to contribute know-how and management in addition to capital.
