Leiden University Protocol for Research
All research activities, and the output during the assessment period from
the research by University staff who have research time
allocated will be evaluated retrospectively in one of the assessments by
Leiden University.
Leiden University Protocol
Leiden University’s protocol functions as an internal instruction for external evaluation visitations (peer reviews) and internal self-evaluations. The protocol also includes the procedure for setting up a peer review committee (visitation committee) and appointing a committee secretary.
The protocol includes the principles and objectives of the research assessments, but, as well as focusing on quality assurance, is also intended to address the University’s quality aims. Further research policy relating to this issue is under preparation within the University, including in relation to the League of European Research Universities and the developments within the European Union.
Also, steps are being prepared to include the research assessments and the quality assurance system now under development, in a University-wide system of quality assurance.
