Collection

The Kern Institute Library is the most important research library on Indology in the Netherlands. The collection consists of 60.000 books and 150 magazines in the area of languages and cultures of South and Central Asia. Furthermore, there is a special collection on the arts and religions of Southeast Asia, especially in Indonesia. The books and the magazines of the former Documentation Centre South Asia have been integrated in the KERN collection. The books are organised according to the Leiden library system, the magazines are alphabetically organised according to title.
