Boonen MSc, C.A.
Cris Boonen is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Leiden. She studied Liberal Arts and Sciences at the Roosevelt Academy - the international honours college of the University of Utrecht - and graduated with an MSc. in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford in 2011.
For her dissertation, she focuses on the resolution of territorial conflicts. More specifically, her research engages the influence of international norms such as sovereignty and territorial integrity on state behaviour in international conflicts.
Her broader research interests include the formulation and implementation of international norms, the role of legitimacy and sovereignty in international politics, and issues of security and conflict.
